• Description:

  The system is activated when the speed falls below 15 km/h. A signal indicates the distance to the object in front of the car. Rear parking assistance facilitates distance assessment and informs of obstructions when you have limited space behind the car- for example when parallel parking. This Volvo rear parking assistance system notifies the driver of obstructions near the rear bumper of the vehicle while parking. When the driver engages the car in reverse gear- the system becomes active. Once an obstruction is identified- the stereos sound level is muted and a pulsating alert tone comes from the cars rear speakers. The pulsating tone begins to sound when the obstacle is approximately 60 inches from the rear bumper- and becomes a constant tone when the rear bumper is approximately 12 inches from the object. The distance to the object is displayed on the center console screen.
